In our modern world we have unfortunately grown accustomed to a need for instant solutions, often associated with a means of the artificial. Healing is not instant or linear, thus requiring a lot of time and patience. As we have become conditioned to be removed from our natural world, planet Earth, we are realizing that our health suffers as a result. Root Thyself Healing is about working with Dr. Imbrogno to understand that Doctor truly means teacher. You will be educated on how the human body functions, in relation to how you are choosing to live. By understanding what is determining your health, or what Naturopathic Medicine refers to as the determinants of health, you will be reminded of
the true healing powers of the human body and it's self-regulating mechanisms. Breath, hydration, nutrition, movement, rest, social engagement, career, family, culture, genetics, environmental exposures and other important determinants of health are assessed to help you choose the best path to healing. Root Thyself Healing has been designed as an initial 5 visit program, aligned with Traditional Chinese Medicine 5 element theory. The first visit is planting the seed, an initial health history intake that coordinates with the Earth element, really emphasizing how you are living here on Earth. The second visit is beginning to root thyself, where you will receive a health plan that provides a structure to your healing journey, that is associated with the Metal element, instilling the foundation for establishing your conditions for health. The third visit is continuing to nourish your trunk, following up within
two weeks, to see how your life is beginning to flow now, relating to the Water element, reporting any positive and negative changes. The fourth visit is how you will branch out more into the world, checking in a month after the initial first visit, reporting on how you have begun to pursue your dreams and passions that you may not have felt inspired to begin, due to feeling stuck in your health journey prior to choosing healing, associated with the Wood element and how you can continue to maintain harmony within yourself, while influencing others to also be their healthiest self. The fifth visit is meant to complete the cycle and aligns with maintaining your crown, 2 months after the initial visit, checking in to assure you are steadfast in your self, through mind, body and spirit, correlating to the Fire element and how you can keep the vital force within you burning, appreciating your health each and every day with pure gratitude.
The six principles of naturopathic medicine as described by the Association of Accredited Naturopathic Medical Colleges
Core to all medical practice is the desire to help the human form and condition. NDs typically approach care by utilizing the most natural, least invasive and least toxic therapies. NDs will refer when the patient's presentation is outside their scope or level of skill.
NDs recognize the value of our natural world in assisting the healing process. Not only do NDs utilize substances that originate in nature, but they also incorporate a healthy natural environment as foundational to human health.
There is a time and place for symptom suppression, however, most naturopathic patients will benefit from identifying the underlying causes of illness and removing obstacles to cure.
Naturopathic doctors elevate patient health literacy. That means that NDs are part of the team helping patients have a better understanding of what it takes to be and stay well. Through education and a trust-based relationship, patients better understand the steps they need to take to achieve and maintain health.
Naturopathic doctors understand the interconnectedness of our body, our environment and our lifestyle on total health. It is only through this whole-person based approach that NDs seek to restore balance and health.
Naturopathic medicine affirms that it is better to prevent illness and suffering whenever possible. Through their comprehensive practice, NDs combine all six principles in order to identify potential areas of imbalance and teach patients how to get well and stay well.
A system of medicine, where science meets art, developed by the German physician, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843). The word Homeopathy is formed from two Greek syllables "Homois" meaning similar and "pathos" for suffering, the idea that a substance whether it be a plant, animal part, mineral, element, nosode, etc, whichever substance, produces similar symptoms of disease in a healthy patient, thus being curative in a diseased patient. Dr. Imbrogno was fortunate enough to have learned Homeopathy from two medical doctors with decades of experience, mentors Dr. Joel Shepperd and Dr. Timothy Fior.
Dr. Imbrogno is clinically trained in botanical medicine and nutritional supplementation, and can provide recommendations for quality choices that can help you optimize your health, while also helping you understand how over supplementation can become detrimental to your health, it really is all about balance.
